You go to the doctor and you weigh 160 pounds.
Then the second time you go in you weigh 158.
Did you lose weight?
You could just say yes but let’s dig deeper.
- You may have lost water weight.
- It could be the time of day is different than your previous weigh in.
- The most likely culprit is someone failing to follow SOP (Standard Operating Procedure). If you had no plans to lose weight. The first doctor did not require the patient to take off their shoes, hat, or to remove all things from their pockets but the second doctor did.
This is a perfect example of why following the SOP can be beneficial and why we all should think critically.
