Small Business and The Perfect Salary

It’s important for women to feel empowered and know that you can do all things. Having your own business can be very liberating.

I had a Tutoring business before where I did many things. Almost all of my raises were given voluntarily to me for doing such a great job.

This was one contract:

Tutoring the children, scheduling contractors, attending all therapies, cleaning, cooking, butlering, house sitting, taking the children to school, meeting with the licensed therapist, meeting with the teachers, reported to the family on construction projects,  managed therapy dog, assisted in the interview process, did monthly inventory.

This was a lot of work. How would someone come up with a salary? Well… you have to know your area and the demand. It’s also nice to know average salaries and if you offer a special service than your fee would be slightly higher. Also, your fee may be higher based on the physical demands of the position.

I looked up some salaries to show you what I mean by research.

A butler usually earns a salary between $50,000 and $150,000 per year, A Private Household Cook can earn a pay level that can range from $24,000 to $36,000 based on levels of tenure, The average salary for a Program Manager is $78k per year.

Upscale community cleaning service $25 to $35 per hour. Special Education/Program Implementation Tutor $17 to $60 dollars per hour. (data google)

After considering all the things above you can come up with a proper salary range. Depending on your field, different rules may apply.
