Locally, I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with people from all over the world. A recurring topic has been France’s taxation on Africa. People from Haiti feel that France owes them money and the people I talked to from Ghana and Nigeria say that France’s taxes are keeping Africans poor.
They are finding Frances continuation of colonial taxation and failure to repay Independence Debt is more than a burden they should bear.
