I am a registered Independent. It’s time for people to stop trying to force our citizens into a specific political position. Don’t you think we should care about policies and that they meet the needs of the communities they serve? People who force identity politics are often the source of hate. If our hands are forced to so identify with a political party that it fosters loss of empathy, and the ability to make moral and ethical decisions, our problems will escalate. Make no mistake, people who force you into a political corner will force you to choose one race over the other, then Muslim or Jew, then Christian or Greek, then Catholic or Protestant and so on. This is not a failure to choose. We have one choice right now, that trumps every other choice, and that is to love.
Do I have a party that fits me like a glove? No, there isn’t, even though there is a very close contender. I will keep you updated on the matter.
