Political Wisdom

There are a lot of people talking about running for President. Many are taking a lighthearted humorous approach.

Amongst the joking around, I recognize that it is important for people to understand that politics is serious. These are real families, and real people, with real needs. Their money, health, and well being hang in the balance. When we suffer, it’s real suffering, and not made-for-TV drama where we can just wake up from a bad dream.

The actions that our leaders take for, or against, the people should not be chalked full of personal vendettas and vengeance. Our leaders have to look out for everything and everyone, no matter their background. Never should our leaders become “cliquish”, childish, or hostile toward the poor, nor should we encourage creating painful situations for one another. There is no time for us to be green with envy, or full of malice.

While we have to leave room for learning, and basic understanding for our men and women, who begin to serve our country, we cannot allow for the dignity and justice of our country to fall apart.

Idolization often turns to injustice, and we must take care to realize that our cruelty towards innocent men, women and children, can very easily be the story that God writes for us. Do unto others has not died.

With this said, I earnestly implore our leaders to act in civil, fair, and supportive ways that will bring us all a brighter tomorrow. Whilst never forgetting the many blessings and abundance of grace that has been bestowed upon the United States of America.

As an American, I have deep roots of love for my country and an endless pool of thanks toward our partners. In times like this it’s necessary to reflect back in our history on how we cooperated, grew with one another and ironically fought side by side for peace.

Now, I know it’s tempting to cast our faith aside and say, “Where is God? and if God is real then let him save us.” A better approach is to listen to the power of words, feel the strength in our hearts, harness the significance of ours souls and take the actions that are necessary to preserve mankind.
