When I chatted with UFC fighter Angela Magana, I had no idea that she had a personal issue with Dana White, but since I’m watching the situation like so many others, I’ll weigh in.

On October 9th Angela posted this on Twitter “Dana it’s tragic that you won’t help Puerto Rico there are over two hundred dead”.

Now, many people who are thankful and grateful that he donated 1 million dollars to the Las Vegas shooting victims. We can’t deny that his donation was a great and awesome thing. I’m sure it will help many people.

However, there’s an exceedingly overwhelming situation in Puerto Rico. They, like the people in Las Vegas, are our sisters and brothers. These people are family. We all have an obligation to love each other.

With that said, Dana White demonstrated with no uncertainty that he cares for others well beyond himself. Does he have a whole lot more money? Sure, but his money is not his worth in this world. We must remember that we have a history of panicking during a tragedy and expecting one person to swoop in like a superhero and save everyone. Even I have made this mistake.

Our expectations in this world should be so much more than relying on Dana White, and praise God that many others have adopted the tragedy in Puerto Rico as a cause of their own.  Saving lives if it is one, or a million, is a mighty thing. We are all responsible for each other.

Dana donating money to Puerto Rico is a personal choice. One that I believe he is more than equipped to make. Let him make it. He has free will.

In the meantime, we should have the expectation of all people to love each other, and for as many as possible take part in showing that love.

Puerto Rico… Nosotros amamos tú. Dios es con tú.
